In a significant development for Apple enthusiasts and those prone to misplacing valuables, Apple's second-generation AirTags are currently available at their lowest price ever. This coveted deal sees a four-pack of the advanced item trackers marked down to just $89, a $10 saving from the usual $99 retail price. Shoppers can find this offer at major retailers Amazon and Target, while Costco members benefit from an even sweeter bundle, receiving a fifth AirTag at no extra cost.
This promotional pricing, initially highlighted on July 31, 2026, makes it an opportune moment for iPhone owners to invest in Apple's sophisticated tracking ecosystem. As The Verge previously recommended, the latest AirTags stand out as the premier choice for Apple users, boasting enhancements that significantly improve on their predecessor and competing Bluetooth trackers.
Enhanced Precision and Range
At the core of the second-generation AirTag's appeal is its upgraded ultra wideband (UWB) chip. This technology powers a more refined Precision Finding feature, providing users with intuitive on-screen arrows and distance indicators directly within the Find My app. This guidance system simplifies the task of locating misplaced items, making it far easier to pinpoint an AirTag's exact whereabouts, even within complex environments like multi-story homes.
Furthermore, the enhanced UWB chip also contributes to an extended Bluetooth range, ensuring faster and more reliable connections to your AirTags. For those sporting an Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Precision Finding capabilities are seamlessly integrated, allowing for item recovery directly from your wrist. Complementing these precise tracking features is a noticeably louder built-in speaker, designed to emit a stronger audible signal when you're trying to locate a tag by sound.
Ideal Companion for Travelers
As summer travel heats up, the second-generation AirTag presents itself as an invaluable travel accessory. Apple has incorporated several features specifically designed to alleviate travel anxieties. The AirTag sharing functionality allows up to five individuals to collaboratively track a single item, perfect for family trips or shared luggage.
Additionally, the innovative Share Item Location feature enables users to temporarily share an AirTag's position with participating airlines. Major carriers like United, Delta, and American Airlines are on board, offering travelers an extra layer of reassurance regarding their checked bags or other essential items. While the absence of a built-in lanyard hole means a separate loop or holder purchase is necessary, the AirTag retains its user-friendly design with a replaceable CR2032 battery, eliminating the need to discard the entire device once its power diminishes.
This limited-time offer represents a prime opportunity to acquire Apple's most advanced item tracker at an exceptional value. Whether you're safeguarding everyday essentials or preparing for a journey, the second-generation AirTag provides robust and intelligent tracking capabilities.
